Frequently asked questions

What are stretched or stretched and mounted prints?
These are prints in which the back of the canvas is tightly stretched over a 40mm deep wooden framework.

The canvas
We use highly textured acid free, matte finish, artist stretch canvas designed for long term, fade resistant fine art or photo reproductions. The cotton canvas has a specifically designed coating which delivers superior colour gamut and resolution.

The stretch frame
The frame is made of pine and is 40mm deep. We can do other thicknesses if required. For canvas, stretching and mounting is a great option due to increased durability and artistic appeal. Artwork can then be displayed on a wall without the necessity of a frame.

Can you make changes to my image or photo?
We can crop, enlarge or change colours, backgrounds add text or special effects, even remove parts you don¹t like.

What resolution should my digital picture or file be at if I want it printed on canvas?
We recommend your digital image be 150 to 300 pixels per inch. The higher the resolution the better. Send us the image and we will tell you if it is suitable.

I have an old photo that I want restored and put on canvas. Can you do that?
Yes, we can digitally restore a picture but this will cost extra – give us a call to discuss.

Will the colours be the same as the original?
We will try to match the colour as closely as possible to the original photograph. However there will be variations.

What is the turn around time for orders?
Once we receive the image from you it usually takes 5 to 7 working days for the order to be ready. The order will then be couriered and can take 3 to 5 business days for anywhere in New Zealand.
